I am originally from Brownsville, Texas, where I began my accounting career at the age of 16 through a co-op program working for Texas Ledger Corporation while still in high school. During that time, I worked on bookkeeping and financial reporting for more than 30 small businesses, which laid the foundation for my career in financial reporting, accounting systems, and business operations.

Later I attended The University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and went on to complete a Master of Science in Accounting from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Over the course of my career, I have worked across accounting, financial reporting, and financial systems roles with organizations including Whataburger and USAA. My experience includes financial reporting, payroll and benefits accounting, systems implementations, and executive financial analysis. I also have extensive experience configuring and supporting financial systems ranging from QuickBooks for small businesses to large enterprise ERP platforms.

Through Azcona Financial Group, my goal is to bring the financial structure, discipline, and insight used by large organizations to the small business community—providing clear financial records, reliable reporting, and practical financial guidance.
